Sustainability Report

In 2024, we took steps to integrate sustainability across our business – from responsible sourcing to empowering our people. We are proud to share our progress in our 2025 sustainability report.

Approved Near-Term and Net-Zero Targets

We are pleased to announce that our science-based greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets have been officially validated and approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This validation confirms our commitment to ambitious climate action aligned with limiting global warming to 1.5°C, in line with the latest climate science and the goals of the Paris Agreement.

Framework for the 6 Key Pillars

Our framework focuses on the environmental of Country Style’s operations and supply chain, addressing carbon emissions, resource use, and biodiversity.

Pillar 1: Responsible Sourcing & Biodiversity

This pillar ensures that the sourcing of raw materials, such as flour, palm oil, soy, and cocoa, is done in a way that is sustainable, protects biodiversity and prevents deforestation.

Pillar 2: Carbon Emission Reduction

This pillar is crucial for addressing the company’s overall environmental impact, particularly by reducing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions in line with Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi).

Pillar 3: Waste Reduction

This pillar focuses on minimizing waste generated in the production process, including food waste and water usage.

Objectives

Waste Reduction: Identify and reduce food waste throughout the manufacturing process.

Surplus Food Redistribution: Donate surplus edible food to local food banks and charities.

Water Conservation: Efficient use of water.

Targets

100% of Food waste redirected for Animal feed by 2025 (2018/19 baseline).

50% relative Reduction in food waste from our manufacturing process by 2030 (2018/19 Baseline).

50% Increase in redistribution of edible surplus food product by 2025 (2023/24 Baseline).

30% relative reduction in water usage by 2030 (2018/19 baseline).

Pillar 4: Plastic & Packaging

Sustainable packaging directly impacts the product’s environmental footprint. This pillar would involve reducing single-use plastics, increasing recyclability, and innovating with alternative materials.

Pillar 5: Healthier Choices

Focus on creating healthier product choices, including increased fibre, lower sugar, lower fat, lower salt and plant-based offerings. This aligns with consumers’ increasing demand for healthier, sustainable options.

Pillar 6: Colleagues & Communities

This pillar addresses colleague welfare, career development, diversity, and engagement with local communities through charitable efforts and volunteering.

Moving Forward

With our SBTi-approved targets now in place, we’re focused on implementation across all areas of our business. We’ll continue to report on our progress annually and work with suppliers, partners, and stakeholders to achieve these ambitious goals.
